We are always accepting applications for new members and cadets to join Youngsville Rescue & EMS. Our members come from all backgrounds and age groups. Most of our rescue members work in other full-time careers, including engineering, teaching, construction work, IT, nursing, and even full-time college students. We value many of the additional talents that our diverse group of rescue squad members brings to the agency, both on and off the ambulance.
Our agency prides itself on being a place where new and prospective EMS providers can grow and learn. We have a supportive training department and provide many resources to our members during and after their initial EMT training. Please note that our agency requests a minimum of a six-month commitment from new members due to the time and resources we invest in our members. We are unable to offer casual ride alongs at this time.
Membership
Persons applying for membership must possess a North Carolina EMS credential. Once you complete the application and release-to-practice process, you will self-schedule your shifts using our scheduling software. Available shifts are night shifts Monday-Friday and both day and night shifts Saturday and Sunday.
Cadet Program
Youngsville Rescue & EMS is one of the only remaining emergency services organizations in central North Carolina that provides an EMS cadet program. This program is intended for persons who have started or are planning to start an EMT-Basic curriculum. Cadets must enroll in an EMT-Basic class within 6 months of their 18th birthday or within 1 year of joining for adults. Cadets participate in squad functions and ride with members to gain experience.
